Weave: Journal of Library User Experience [1] seeks a creative, collegial individual to serve as scholarly submissions editor. This position manages the process of receiving, reviewing, accepting, and editing peer-reviewed submissions, spending 10-20 hours a month on publishing-related tasks. Like all positions at Weave, editors are volunteers and can work remotely from anywhere in the world. See the full position description at https://gist.github.com/K-Felk/2a7787109f3cc336182af2751321a303

Weave is a peer-reviewed, open access, web-based publication with an interest in facilitating, broadening, and documenting the conversation around what, why, and how user experience design informs both theory and practice within libraries and related fields. (More about our editorial philosophy at https://www.weaveux.org/about.html#philosophy) Our aspiration is to engage with UX colleagues and create an authentic dialogue around these topics, while exploring varying modes of publication, narrative, and scholarship.

All editors work on deadline. Our busiest times are three months before each issue is published, as we get everything ready for copy editing and production. (We publish issues in early April and October.)

Weave values diversity, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.

Weave believes that user experience must be inclusive of the experience of all users, and we are actively interested in building an editorial staff that reflects the diversity of the library community and our users. To this end we specifically encourage applications from people of color, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, and people who identify as differently-abled. Your perspective will enrich our journal.

Interested? Tell us about your writing and editing experience and show us your passion for readable and creative prose. If you're familiar with library and user experience terminology, that's great, but not required.

To apply, send a cover letter, CV, and an academic writing sample to the search committee at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by November 5, 2018.

Cheers,
The WeaveUX Editorial Board
