CALL FOR NOMINATIONS:

The SILS Alumni Association at UNC-Chapel Hill seeks nominations for its
Distinguished Alumni Award. This award recognizes:

   -

Outstanding professional library or information science achievements at
national, state or local levels; and/or
   -

A high degree of professionalism and given outstanding service to the
UNC School of Information and Library Science, or its Alumni Association,
and has shown commitment to librarianship or information science.

To nominate someone who fits the above profile, please fill out the brief
nomination form at https://sils.unc.edu/alumni/alumni-award-form. While
nominations are accepted year-round, to be considered for the 2019 award,
please submit your nomination by January 31, 2019.

Please note:

   1.

You need not be an alumnus of SILS or UNC-Chapel Hill yourself to
nominate a candidate for this award.
   2.

Number of years in the profession shall not alone determine a
candidate’s qualification; in giving the award, the association will
balance between giving the award for professional promise and giving it
primarily as an award for longevity of service at the time of retirement.
   3.

A list of past award winners may be found at
   https://sils.unc.edu/why-sils/excellence-exemplified/awards/sils-alumni.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
