About our community

Our library system is well supported by the community and is comprised of two libraries. The Kilton Public Library in West Lebanon opened in 2010 and was a Library Journal New Landmark Libraries Honorable Mention. The Lebanon Library in Lebanon is a Carnegie library built in 1909 with a 1985 addition. All library staff work at both locations. Governed by a board of trustees, the libraries are city funded with a 1.4 million dollar budget. We are also supported by a library foundation. As an institution that values both privacy and innovation, we were the first public library system in the U.S. to host a Tor exit node.
