I'm afraid I don't know anything about our network storage except how to map it. A few caveats to my initial statement: The last time I moved large data files may have been on my previous computer, in which case one of those HDDs would have been on a USB3 external enclosure. Also, for what it's worth, we share a building with IT. The server room with the network storage is in the basement two stories below me, and they recently retrofitted a space on my floor for the high performance computing servers. It's entirely possible I'm benefiting from unusually beefy networking equipment not deployed on the rest of campus. ------- Mark Sandford Systems Librarian Assistant Professor in the Libraries Colgate University Libraries (315) 228-7363 On Fri, Mar 8, 2019 at 9:59 AM Zachary L Pelli <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > I'm with you, Junior. > > Mark, do you by chance know what sort of infrastructure the drive is > running on? > > Regards, > > Zach Pelli > Digital Collections Infrastructure Developer > Seton Hall University Libraries > 973.275.2046 > > -----Original Message----- > From: Code for Libraries <[log in to unmask]> On Behalf Of Junior > Tidal > Sent: Thursday, March 7, 2019 2:58 PM > To: [log in to unmask] > Subject: Re: [CODE4LIB] Network/share drive speeds > > I envy those speeds.
