You're quite welcome, Junior. One correction... the Fn function keys do in fact work on that laptop with Ubuntu Studio. They were just switched to provide the alternate functions from what I had expected. So ALT-Fn-F4 was needed to close something, whereas I was just trying ALT-F4. Ugh.
