Passing along a call for proposals for those who may be interested:

The ALCTS CaMMS Catalog Form and Function Interest Group is seeking
proposals for the 2019 ALA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. The IG meets
2:30-3:30 on Saturday, June 22nd.



Presentations should be 10 to 20 minutes long, with additional time for
questions and discussion. The charge of the Catalog Form and Function
Interest Group is to explore the evolving nature of the library catalog and
its relationship to the fundamental mission and expanding services of
libraries.



Theme: Responsive discovery: anticipating and meeting new challenges



Possible topics could include:



•             New uses for existing functions, modules, or reports in the
ILS

•             Responding to user needs and expectations

•             Library catalogs, Google Scholar, and other competing
discovery technologies

•             Using facets and relationships such as LCDGT, LCGFT, or
entity attributes to refine searches or displays

•             Creating, configuring, and/or optimizing discovery interfaces

•             ILS configurations

•             The display and function of authority records in the OPAC or
discovery layer

•             Implementing a new open source ILS

•             Mobile discovery tools

•             Exposing, display, and use of local data

•             Preparing for or implementing BIBFRAME or linked data
projects in your local system

15th.*
