This session will be based on the new ORCID US Community Outreach Planning Guide, accessible from the ORCID US “community resources” webpage. The guide is geared toward research institution employees involved in promoting ORCID and provides advice for:

• Gaining key internal stakeholder support for ORCID
• Designating outreach leaders
• Crafting messaging that will resonate with researchers
• Using different strategies to get the best ORCID adoption results for your context

After the session, participants should be able to:

• Understand how researchers can get the most benefit from using ORCID
• Identify strategies that can be used to encourage researchers to register for and use their ORCID iD
• Conceptualize a plan for local promotion of ORCID, with knowledge of where to go to find more information
