I got a new laptop today, and it was exciting for approximately 20 seconds. That’s how long it took for the existential crisis to hit.
I had thought to myself “Oh, it will be
easy. I have a MacBook, and I’m switching to a MacBook! No problem!!” And then I
couldn’t figure out how to connect my mouse. And then when I used the mouse, scrolling one way sent me hurtling off in the opposite direction I’d meant to go. All day, I’ve been entering
passwords, and moving files, and trying to cope with not having a headphone jack in my life—I feel like I’m clambering out of an island forest with twigs in my hair; a real “three-hour tour” situation, if you catch my meaning.
Some people say I’m a little dramatic. And also that I’ve seen more 60’s sitcoms than is natural. Both would be right.
