Hi Everybody, Just a heads up that our next Content Interest Group (first Wed of each month) meeting falls on July 3rd and several of us will be out the door already for the July 4th holiday. Let’s plan on reconvening on Wednesday, July 10th at 11am ET. One of our suggested topics for this year was on best practices for managing content privacy and intellectual property. The group had suggested one dimension of this area of concern related to culturally sensitive materials/info in our collections. GVSU Libraries indicated that it has fostered proactive conversations around this issue. We would be willing to address the topic on the next call. I (Matt Schultz) am a tribal citizen of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi here in Michigan and have been working closely with our library/archives and our university to raise awareness and foster dialogue. Happy to talk about those experiences and learn about similar activities that may be underway at others’ institutions. Jessica Meyerson from the Educopia Institute has agreed to present to us on the work of The Maintainers Project<http://themaintainers.org/> for our August call. So lots of exciting topics on the way!
