Hello everyone,

As more of our colleagues use Zoom for meetings, a number of security concerns have been raised. In an effort to protect DLF groups and NDSA meetings from "Zoom-bombing," beginning today, April 13th, we will initiate the use of a generic password to provide a layer of protection for our meetings.

ALL scheduled meetings will now require users to enter the password: DLFzoom

In addition to the use of a password, we are no longer posting Zoom call-in information to our social media, and we have removed all call-in information from meetings scheduled on our shared community calendar. Our calendar invites now direct people to email us at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for call-in information.

Group leaders will plan to share call-in information through this listserv, and you can expect to also receive this information directly through your group’s preferred communications channels (listservs, Google Groups, etc.).

We have also disabled screensharing and file transfer for all participants in our meetings, removing the potential for distracting material or inappropriate content. If your meeting will require screensharing, group leaders may notify us and we will make that adjustment for them.

We hope that distributing our Zoom call-in information only through our respective listservs and Google Groups will prevent zoom-bombing from occurring, but trying to maintain open meetings does, unfortunately, put us at risk.

If you have any questions or concerns or run into difficulties logging into a meeting, please contact us at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Best,
Gayle and Team DLF
