There are a good number of issues, and it's to the point where it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on. Bruce Schneier's post about Zoom [https://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2020/04/security_and_pr_1.html] does a good job summarizing the major issues, as well as capturing some of the responses from institutions, such as the NYC schools banning Zoom use. Other workplaces, such as Google, have also banned Zoom use among their workers - https://www.techrepublic.com/article/who-has-banned-zoom-google-nasa-and-more/.

I noticed a few universities publishing Zoom security pages for their faculty, staff, and students. An example is the University of Washington - https://itconnect.uw.edu/connect/phones/conferencing/zoom-video-conferencing/security-settings/. They also published a FAQ that's linked from that page which might be useful.

The only thing that we know for certain is that this is a rapidly changing privacy situation ;c)

Can folks in this group share other privacy concerns that have come up in relation to Zoom? I've seen reports about how anyone can download chat transcripts (including private messages), and that the meeting IDs are not unique and openly shared, which allows for anyone to enter a Zoom meeting (Zoom bombing). Our university IT even said that requiring a meeting ID is not sufficient, and is recommending allowing only authenticated users.
