The Creative Ideas in Technical Services Interest Group (CITSIG) seeks
presenters for brief but lively discussions for its session at Core Virtual
Interest Group Week, February 1-5, 2021. The CITSIG session will take place
on *Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 3:00 pm EST/2:00 pm CST*. Presenters will
give a quick introduction to a creative idea that they are interested in,
and attendees will then have a chance to engage in a lively, informal
discussion of the topic in virtual breakout rooms.

We welcome a wide range of topics related to technical services,
particularly acquisitions, cataloging, metadata, classification,
preservation, or systems in academic, public, special, or school libraries.

If selected, presenters should plan to prepare:

   -

A short presentation (5-10 minutes) introducing a creative idea related
to technical services: why are you interested in this topic? Why might
other library staff be interested? What's the history behind the idea, or
where might it take us in the future?
   -

Three to six discussion prompts, which will be shared with breakout
groups to get some conversations started

Please submit your proposal to the Interest Group’s chair, Sarah Hovde (
[log in to unmask]), and vice-chair, Susan Martin ([log in to unmask]),
by Friday, December 18, 2020, and include the following:

   -

Short presentation summary (less than 200 words)
   -

Two to three sample discussion prompts
   -

Name, title, affiliation, and email address for presenter

Presenters will be notified of acceptance by January 8, 2021.
