DLF Museums Cohort Year in Review

Hello everyone,

This year, DLF’s Museums Cohort turned 5 and, like all of DLF’s Working Groups, we continued to thrive in 2020. In case you missed it, take a look at our Year in Review (below, or view in browser here) and catch up on recordings of this year’s meetings, including our presentations from staff at the British Museum Library, the New York Botanical Garden’s library and herbarium, and many more.

Interested in a more active role in the Museums Cohort? We’re seeking additional co-coordinators to take the lead on organizing monthly meetings and group projects for 2021. No prior involvement with the Cohort is necessary. Contact us at [log in to unmask] to schedule a brief chat about leadership opportunities. Note that we may be a little slower to reply with the upcoming holiday, but we will get back to you.

Though we won’t be meeting in December, mark your calendars for our first meeting of 2021 on Wednesday, January 27, 2pm ET/11am PT. Sign up for our low-traffic listserv to ensure you don’t miss any Museums Cohort announcements.

All the best,

Team DLF

Year in Review

DLF's Museums Cohort will not hold a December meeting.

Join us for our first 2021 meeting on January 27 at 2pm ET/11am PT.

2020 has been an eventful year, with lots of changes for all of us, including the DLF Museums Cohort. After surveying our membership this summer, in September we instituted an alternating schedule for monthly calls, with a new salon-style open discussion format, during which there is no pre-planned topic or presentation. These meetings occur every other call, alternating with our traditional invited presentations, and provide attendees the opportunity to discuss problem-solving and solutions for current work projects.

Speaking of invited speakers, we were thrilled that so many wonderful colleagues representing institutions across the globe shared with us this year. Highlights include:

Watch these presentations and more on CLIR/DLF's YouTube channel, and catch up on all of our 2020 calls with the shared meeting notes. Stay tuned for 2021 announcements and calls for participation and join our dedicated listserv. It's open to all and a great place to promote your projects, exhibits, or seek advice from other professionals in the field.
