The Tracing Race at Iowa State University Advisory Group is seeking proposals for digital projects that reveal the under-documented history of accomplishment and experience of people of color, and engage with the history of race, inequality, racism, and student, faculty and staff activism at Iowa State University. The committee welcomes proposals from undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff in all disciplines. Undergraduate applicants are asked to identify a faculty or staff advisor for their project.

The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2021. Proposals will be evaluated by the Advisory Group, and the expected term of work for selected projects is Summer or Fall 2021. The Tracing Race at Iowa State University initiative is administrated by the Digital Scholarship and Initiatives (DSI) department of the Iowa State University Library. If you have a topic in mind but are unsure how to express it as a digital project, we recommend scheduling a consultation with a member of DSI. For an introduction to library resources related to this initiative, visit our research guide. Please direct any questions about this proposal process to the project coordinator, Erin Anderson, [log in to unmask].
