*Description*
Pratt Institute is seeking an organized and community-oriented Program
Coordinator for the Digital Preservation Outreach and Education Network
(DPOE-N). DPOE-N is a network of training resources available to cultural
heritage professionals nationwide to enhance their digital preservation
knowledge and skills with a significant outreach and recruitment component.
DPOE was created by the Library of Congress in 2010 to provide digital
preservation training across the U.S. The program transitioned to Pratt
Institute and New York University’s Moving Image Archiving and Preservation
program in 2018 to further develop and support it into the future.

Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Information, the
successful candidate will run the day-to-day operations of the DPOE-N
program, including managing graduate assistants, participant recruitment,
logistics of microfund requesting and distribution, and overseeing workshop
curriculum and delivery. If you have experience working with digital
preservation, can demonstrate the ability to successfully facilitate
training workshops, and can process and manage microfunding efforts with
accuracy, then we want to hear from you!

*Key Essential Duties include the following:*

   - Manage the recruitment of participants for microfunding support, often
   consulting with them on appropriate professional development opportunities
   for their needs/contexts
   - Help DPOE-N applicants prepare applications for microfunding support
   - Keep abreast of available digital preservation professional
   development opportunities which could be funded with DPOE-N Support, and
   collaborating with 3rd party providers of digital preservation education
   (e.g., the Society of American Archivists, Northeast Document Conservation
   Center) to further DPOE-N’s mission
   - Manage a small team of graduate assistants (from Pratt and NYU MIAP)
   to accomplish program objectives
   - Coordinate curriculum development and deployment of free DPOE-N hosted
   workshops
   - Participate in DPOE-N board of advisor meetings by providing updates
   on the project and preparing applications for board approval
   - Manage all program communications and promote DPOE-N Support
   opportunities via conferences, the DPOE-N website, social media, etc.
   - Work with consultant to coordinate evaluation of all DPOE-N activities


*Qualifications*
*Education*: Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or related
field.

*Experience: *2-years of work experience; experience working with digital
preservation tools/technologies/practices.

*Skills:*

   - Knowledge of digital preservation and passion for helping novices
   learn about it
   - Excellent verbal and written communication including the ability to
   collaborate with internal staff, partners at outside institutions, and
   program participants
   - Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a
   collaborative team
   - Superior computer skills. Experience with web-based project management
   and communication tools, especially Airtable, Google Workspace, Wordpress,
   Slack, Zoom, a plus
   - Ability to provide high-quality service to DPOE-N users/participants
   - Project management capabilities and ability to manage graduate students
   - Ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required

*Compensation: *This is a grand-funded position funded through June 30,
2022, and may be extended based on ability to secure additional funds. The
compensation for this position is $66,101 per year and includes all Pratt
Institute administrative employee benefits.

*Flexibility:* Remote, in-person or hybrid work options will be considered.
