We're delighted to announce that the second webinar from the Practical Applications of IIIF Project, funded by the AHRC and part of the Towards a National Collection initiative, will be taking place a week from today. Please see below for the programme and a link to register:

 

IIIF Services and Tools Webinar
Friday 11th June 2021 15:30 – 18:00 BST

The 'Practical Applications of IIIF' Foundation Project is hosting its second webinar focused on how IIIF is used in varying environments from individual researchers and small projects to national collaborations.

Broken into two sections, the webinar will begin with presentations intended to introduce attendees to the challenges and opportunities involved in implementing IIIF, this will be followed by an interactive panel discussion featuring experts from across the IIIF and digital humanities landscape.

Session 1 – Implementing IIIF

  • Introduction and Welcome (Joseph Padfield)
  • Tom Crane will discuss the work done by Digirati working with various institutions across the sector.
  • Abira Hussein will present their work with Nomad Project and explore how IIIF and Jekyll have facilitated presenting interactive web content.
  • Andrew Davis will present a paper centred around how focusing on small-scale, tangible benefits set The Royal Collection Trust on the path to IIIF adoption.
  • Jason Evans will present details of how IIIF has facilitated larger endeavours at the National Library of Wales.

 

Session 2 – Panel Discussion
Following short introductions from each of the panellists, we will open discussion to the floor. In advance of this session panellists have been asked to reflect on IIIF’s place within production and research workflows, presentation and dissemination, as well as the future of IIIF. Questions from the audience are actively encouraged.
