Subject: [mcn] Participate in Important Museum Research Project on Organizational Knowledge Management

Greetings, MCN Community,

My name is Neville Vakharia and I am a professor of Arts Administration & Musem Leadership at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I am conducting a national survey of small and mid-sized museums in the United States, with an emphasis on art, science, and natural history museums.

In light of the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, this important study seeks to understand how museums create, share, and manage their organizational knowledge. This includes how people and technology impact the way your museum conducts its work. We expect that our findings will provide museums with important information to improve performance and relevance.

Participation involves completing a brief online survey. After the survey, you will be invited to participate in an optional follow-up conversation via Zoom, scheduled at your convenience. Only one survey response per museum is needed. The survey should take no more than 8-10 minutes to complete. Your responses to the survey will be kept anonymous, and no individual responses will be made public in any way. This research is not funded by any outside organization.

By participating in this research, you will receive a summary report of its findings and implications for museum practice. One participant will be randomly selected to receive a $100 gift card. Please feel free to forward this information as needed to the appropriate person at your museum and share it within your museum networks.

We look forward to your responses and appreciate your time and effort.
