Dear Colleagues,

Would you like to provide your users with quick and easy access to Open Access copies of otherwise paywalled scientific articles? If so, you probably recommend a browser extension such as Unpaywall <http://unpaywall.org/products/extension> and/or Core Discovery <https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/core-discovery/ockidfiihjhkngdalfnbeeepgfbmkmlh?hl=en>.

But what if you would like to offer this convenience to your users on Safari for macOS and/or Mobile Safari on iPhone or iPad? In that case your users were out of luck, until now. Consider recommending Open Access Helper (www.oahelper.org <http://www.oahelper.org/>) to your iPhone, iPad & Mac users!

Open Access Helper offers:

Open Access copies via unpaywall.org <http://unpaywall.org/> and / or core.ac.uk <http://core.ac.uk/> APIs (badge & popover)
Times Cited counts via opencitations.net  <https://www.opencitations.net/>(badge & popover)
Core Recommender (badge)
For users who self identified their institution, it will additionally offer:
Reloading of the current page via the institution’s EZProxy server (popover)
Linking to the library’s link resolver or Inter Library Loan form (badge & popover)

Give it a try, it is free and privacy conscious. I have developed the app and maintain it as a hobby project and would love to get more users.

Would you like to see if your institution is already listed?

Visit https://www.oahelper.org/proxy/ <https://www.oahelper.org/proxy/> and search by domain or partial institution name.
If your institution is not listed, please consider requesting for it to be added here https://www.oahelper.org/proxy?mode=new <https://www.oahelper.org/proxy?mode=new>
If your institutions details are not quite perfect, request for them to be updated by contacting me at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>

Would you like to contribute a translation?

At this time the extension (not the containing app) supports German & English, but I would be delight if one of you wanted to help out with translations!
Note: I believe I have valid French & Dutch translations (thanks François & Rob) at my disposal and will be testing those soon

I look forward to your feedback and hope to welcome your users to the service soon!

Best regards

Claus
