Hello,

Are you a repository manager, metadata librarian, or other GLAM worker at an organization with a Samvera repository?  Please join us for the next Samvera Metadata Interest Group meeting on January 25th, 2022, 2-3pm EST, which will be a roundtable discussion on Metadata for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  Listed below are possible topics for discussion, but all ideas are welcome.

• Content warnings and harmful content statements
• Collaborative metadata creation and management with communities and repositories
• Problematic subject headings and use of alternative controlled vocabularies
• Local namespaces and controlled vocabularies
• Metadata remediation and audit projects, tools, or examples

We’d love to hear what you’re doing in your work!  If you’re interested in participating, please email Nora Zimmerman ([log in to unmask]) and Anna Goslen (goslen@email.unc.edu), SMIG co-facilitators, with a brief description of your proposed discussion topic by January 14th, 2022.  All are welcome.
