Welcome to 2022, and another year of NISO events! Our first monthly webinar of the year, Building and Ensuring Long-term Resilience (free for NISO members), takes place on January 12. It will be followed by a free webinar, ODI Conformance Statement for Libraries Workshop on January 19. And we close out the month with our first virtual conference, The User Experience: Just Fix It, on January 26. Please help us spread the word at your organization — we hope that you and your colleagues will join us for one or more of these virtual events!

The User Experience: Just Fix It (discounts for NISO members)

Wednesday, January 26, 12.00pm - 4.00pm Eastern Standard Time (Canada/US)

The user experience can be viewed through a variety of lenses. What makes sense to the developer may be baffling to the user. How can we ensure that users find the functionality or content they expect? That some useful resource hasn’t inadvertently been hidden? Are there small tweaks that could make a world of difference? Are they easy to make or will they require a significant overhaul of the user interface? We’ll hear from a group of industry professionals, with experience of enhancing the user experience in various ways while keeping an eye on technical debt, costs, and time. Speakers will include Lettie Conrad, LYC Consulting and Jessica Smith, JSTOR Labs.
