I’d love to see if we could work together between DLF and Core (the ALA division) to continue privacy research and advocacy. I think there is work to be done in this area, but with so little extra bandwidth across the group of people who are interested in working on it, we need to find a way to make it easier. I’ll raise this with the Core Access & Equity Section, and see if we could set up an interest group (wouldn’t require ALA membership to join that) that could partner with DLF. Not sure on the logistics of this, but we can explore if there’s interest. We have been unable to identify a co-convener to replace Michelle after her term ended, and due to unforeseen circumstances, Eliza is also no longer able to lead this group. As a consequence, we will need to sunset PET until new leaders volunteer. Please let us know by Tuesday, February 22 if you are interested in this leadership opportunity, or if you have a vision for sustaining PET-related work if the group formally concludes. We are grateful for the work that this group has produced over the past five years, as well as the dialogue and community it has created in the library profession.
