Dear CODE4LIB colleagues,

I’m sharing the below message on behalf of the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) Web Archiving Conference Program Committee:
The call for proposals for the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) Web Archiving Conference (WAC) is now open!

The IIPC annual conference brings together the world’s experts in web archiving. While it usually attracts the international community of web archiving practitioners, it is intended for an even wider audience including archivists, curators, software developers, researchers interested in working with digital content, and digital preservationists.

The 2022 WAC will be held online (May 23-25) and is organized in partnership with the Library of Congress, one of the IIPC’s founding members.

This year’s conference title #WhyWebArchiving is inspired by Kees Teszelszky, Curator of Born Digital Collections at Koninklijke Bibliotheek. The WAC Program Committee invites proposals related to six broad themes: Future Pasts, Collections, Outreach, Research, Standards, and Tools. More details about the suggested topics as well as submission guidelines are available on the conference website: https://netpreserve.org/ga2022/cfp.

The deadline for submitting proposals is by the end of the day on April 2, 2022 (UTC-12).

For updates, please follow the conference website (netpreserve.org/ga2022) and Twitter (@netpreserve, #iipGA22, #iipcWAC22, #WhyWebArchiving).

If you have any questions about WAC, you can email us at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]>.

Sincerely,
Meghan
