You only need to install the app on your phone. Then you connect your phone to the car via the Bluetooth feature. Then start to play the book on your phone. Everything must be connected and started before you move the car out of park. I learned this on a recent trip in a car rental. I drive an older vehicle and do not have a Bluetooth enabled stereo receiver. Hope it helps.
