You only need to install the app on your phone. Then you connect your phone to the car via the Bluetooth feature. Then start to play the book on your phone. Everything must be connected and started before you move the car out of park. I learned this on a recent trip in a car rental. I drive an older vehicle and do not have a Bluetooth enabled stereo receiver.

Hope it helps.

Subject: [CODE4LIB] Hoopla audio books - hands free in your vehicle

Notice: This email originated outside the Sentara Healthcare network. Beware of links and attachments. Forward suspicious emails to [log in to unmask]

My esteemed lsitmates,

If you want to listen to audio-books via Hoopla hands-free in your car, do
you have to install the Hoopla app *both* on the car's system *and* your
Android?

Or do you just install Android Auto on your car and install the Hoopla app
on your Android and then pair the phone to the car?

Thank you!

Charles.
