This eight-week course is intended to provide consistency of training and a baseline of knowledge on APIs that use the HTTP REST paradigm for scholarly resources across multiple information services and systems. Working with Scholarly APIs <http://www.niso.org/events/working-scholarly-apis-niso-training-series> will be led by course moderator, Phill Jones, co-founder for digital and technology at the MoreBrains Cooperative <https://www.morebrainsconsulting.coop/>, a consultancy working at the forefront of scholarly infrastructure, information management, and research dissemination. Phill will be joined by experts from several key scholarly API providers, including: Jordan Holt of ORCID; Patricia Feeney of Crossref; Jason Priem of OpenAlex; Helene Draux of Digital Science; and others TBD. There will also be sessions on APIs for data science, and APIs in the library environment. This training series will be held weekly on Thursdays from 11.00am-12.30pm (EDT, US & Canada) from April 28 through June 16, with each session lasting 60-90 minutes. All sessions will be recorded and links will be shared with course registrants within two business days of each session.
