The Texas State Law Library is hiring a web content librarian!

Law librarians at the State Law Library assist patrons by referring them to helpful resources, helping them navigate our extensive collection, and keeping our website, legal guides, and FAQs up to date with useful and authoritative information. In addition to providing legal reference services, SLL librarians have specialized responsibilities in other areas of the library. This position will be responsible for creating content for the library website as well as our blog and social media accounts. They will also work with our web manager to identify usability concerns and improve patrons' experiences on our website. An ALA-accredited graduate degree is required but not a J.D.

Although the library is located on the grounds of the state Capitol in beautiful and exciting downtown Austin, we hear from people in all 254 Texas counties, urban and rural, by phone and email. Law librarians staff our physical reference desk with the possibility of a partial work from home schedule if certain conditions are met.

SLL has been a leader in providing legal information remotely since 2014. Since then, we have built an innovative collection of resources that are available free of charge to Texans of all backgrounds through our website. This position is ideal for anyone interested in harnessing technology to close the "justice gap" and empower people to assert their legal rights.

If you're passionate about equal access to justice and legal information, we would love to hear from you! Please visit our website for a detailed job description and information on how to apply: https://www.sll.texas.gov/about-us/employment-opportunities/.
