Ross and Joe, Thank you both. I'm handling a plethora of matters at the library so I really appreciate all your help and understanding. The documents we're discussing are bank statements. I want to protect them from hackers. I want the person who gets them to be able to open them. He may not have WZIP as he's no techie. I have Acrobat Reader free. Nothing else Adobe related. I've never tried encrypting in Acrobat Reader. Once they are sent is there a way in gmail to then delete ONLY the attached statements but NOT the mail message sent to that person? So, it saves the text in my message in my gmail Sent box to him but I delete the attachment sent to him once he has received that attachment? Thank you so much. Charles.
