The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the University of Strathclyde, as they become the newest Associate Member of the Coalition.

Located in Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde is responsible for the digital preservation of more than 80000 scholarly publications as well as over 40TB of archive collections, with more on the way. Workflows are deployed for research publications, datasets and theses which aim to standardize digital preservation activities.

"The University of Strathclyde increasingly views digital preservation as a key part of the workflow for a variety of digital objects and an essential part of system functionality," explains Alan Slevin, Scholarly Publications Manager for the University of Strathclyde.

"We are looking forward to the opportunities that membership will bring, not least access to a network of expertise and advice on digital preservation issues."

Chair of the DPC Board, Juan Bicarregui welcomed the news, saying: "As the location for the DPC's hugely successful iPres 2022 conference and neighbors in our home city of Glasgow, we are thrilled that the University of Strathclyde has joined the DPC. They join a large group of members which now represents academic institutions not just in Scotland but around the world and, collectively, we look forward to learning from their experiences."
