With 4 libraries on campus and over 8 million items (both print volumes and electronic books) in their collection, the Tucson-based university is Arizona’s premiere research-intensive university and committed to ongoing stewardship of their digital assets. The collection holds born digital archival materials, audiovisual materials, digitized collections, campus publications, research and geospatial data, and web archives.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that the University of Arizona is now part of the Coalition, and very much look forward to getting involved with DPC initiatives and collaborating with members around the globe on relevant digital preservation issues,” says Stacey Erdman, Digital Preservation Librarian for the University of Arizona Libraries.

Juan Bicarregui, Chair of the DPC, welcomed the news, saying: “We are delighted that the University of Arizona Libraries have joined the DPC. We look forward to sharing their collective expertise as they contribute their experiences to this growing network of expertise in the Americas.”

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance. Its vision is a secure digital legacy.
