Greetings DLF!

The UCSF Industry Documents Library is hiring for a new project archivist position (full-time, grant-funded for 2 years). Please take a look and consider applying or sharing with interested candidates. I'm the hiring manager for this role and am happy to be contacted with questions ([log in to unmask]). More details below. Thanks!

The UCSF Industry Documents Library<https://www.industrydocuments.ucsf.edu/> (IDL) seeks a full-time project archivist to help expand a digital archive of millions of documents obtained from litigation against industries impacting public health. This role is a full-time, exempt, grant-funded position lasting two years from the date of hire.

As the IDL Project Archivist, you’ll work remotely with a friendly and supportive team including archivists, technologists, and a program coordinator to process a variety of digital documents from the tobacco and opioid industries and make these materials freely available for the public. You’ll receive training in IDL’s privacy and data security procedures, and work with the team to evaluate new formats found in the collections, including Slack messages and social media content. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the UCSF Library and at IDL’s partner institutions, and as one of UCSF’s librarians you’ll belong to the Librarians Association of the University of California (LAUC)<https://lauc.ucop.edu/> and be encouraged to participate in research, teaching, presentations, and professional development opportunities.

The IDL is a unique digital archives project with a strong commitment to free access to information, truth and transparency, and health justice. We’re an open-minded, supportive, and productive team based in multiple time zones, and we welcome qualified U.S.-based applicants from all backgrounds. A reasonable salary estimate for this position is $61,920-$108,349, depending on experience. Come and join the team!

The IDL follows the Society of American Archivists’ Best Practices for Archival Term Positions<https://osf.io/sp4n5>.
