On Thursday 2 November – in just 2 weeks’ time -
World Digital Preservation Day (WDPD) 2023 starts when the sun comes up in Samoa. All day long we’ll publish blog posts from the digital preservation community on the DPC
website and via social media, keeping you up to date with the latest developments in the digipres field.
On the Day, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) will be launching the Global 'Bit List' of Endangered Digital Species
2023! Please
join us for a live Panel Discussion with Bit List Council Members, nominators and users of the Bit List as we release the Bit List 2023,
a free-to-access list of at-risk digital materials which is revised every two years. By compiling and maintaining the Bit List, the DPC aims to equip digital preservation practitioners with independent evidence that digital materials are critically endangered,
and that action is required, in order to support their targeted advocacy efforts.
Institutions all over the world are organizing events in honour of World Digital Preservation Day as well. Check out the
list of WDPD events
on the DPC website to see if there are any events in your region to join! If you would like your event listed there as well, please submit details to
