The DLF Born-Digital Access Working Group is looking for two co-coordinators to serve beginning in January 2025. At the end of 2024, Nicole Scalessa (Vassar College) and Tori Maches (UC San Diego) will be stepping down as co-coordinators of BDAWG after two years of service. We’re looking for two co-coordinators to lead the group starting in 2025, and we hope you’ll consider volunteering or passing this call along to a colleague who may be interested! The only requirements to be a co-coordinator are an interest in creating a community of practice and engagement around born-digital access, and a willingness to plan and facilitate meetings on a monthly schedule. Our meetings are currently from 2:00–3:00 PM ET on the first Tuesday of each month. Our goal is to hold a one-hour Zoom orientation for incoming co-coordinators in mid-December, with the roles officially beginning in January 2025. Attendance at the DLF forum or institutional membership in DLF are not required. Anyone interested in born-digital access can participate, regardless of forum attendance or DLF membership status. Thank you for considering taking on this role within the Born-Digital Access Working Group. If you’re interested in volunteering or have questions, please contact Nicole Scalessa at [log in to unmask], or Tori Maches at [log in to unmask] With gratitude, Nicole Scalessa and Tori Maches About the Born-Digital Access Working Group The DLF Born-Digital Access Working Group, formed in 2017, researches and advances the practice of providing access to born-digital collections. Current activities include researching access practices, determining levels of access for born-digital materials, and hosting archivist bootcamps to share ideas and tools. While our current focus is participatory archival research and development, we are situated under the Digital Library Federation to better connect across disciplinary silos. Any librarians or other workers interested in providing access to born-digital data, regardless of the data’s age or format, are welcome. https://www.diglib.org/groups/bdawg/ -- Nicole H.
