Cooperative collections management is the process by which networks of
institutions work collaboratively to acquire, manage, circulate, and
preserve collections. The CCLP seeks to overcome serious barriers to wider
implementation and develop the standards and best practices needed to
support cooperative selection, acquisitions, processing, and analytics.

In this public webinar, NISO will update the community on the CCLP and the
IMLS grant supporting this work. It will also provide information on the
current progress of the associated Collaborative Collections Lifecycle
Infrastructure Project (CCLIP) and the Working Groups within this project.

*Confirmed speakers: Todd Carpenter*, Executive Director, NISO; *Jill
Morris,* Executive Director, PALCI; and *Boaz Nadav-Manes,* University
Librarian, Lehigh University.

VIRTUAL TRAINING SERIES | EARLY BIRD DEADLINE TOMORROW MARCH 21
*AI and Prompt Design*
<https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail19.com/t/j-l-skujyul-diydlkkdjr-k/>

*Thursdays, 11:00 am–12:30 pm EDT (US/Canada) April 4–May 23, 2024*

This course will introduce students to prompt engineering with large
language models (LLMs)—how you design and tailor a message to get an LLM to
perform a specific task. It is designed for students with no coding
knowledge, and a basic knowledge of machine learning is helpful but not
required; the course will bring students up to speed with all the necessary
terminology and concepts. Sessions will be divided between instruction and
hands-on lessons in which students will apply the material as they learn.

*Training Facilitator: William Mattingly,* Postdoctoral Fellow, Smithsonian
Institution’s Data Science Lab

*See our event page
<https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail19.com/t/j-l-skujyul-diydlkkdjr-u/>
for additional details and course requirements and to register
<https://nationalinformationstandardsorganization.cmail19.com/t/j-l-skujyul-diydlkkdjr-o/>.*
Recordings of each session will be made available to course registrants
within two business days of the close of the specific session.

*April 15, 2024, 3:00–4:00 pm EDT (US/Canada)*

KBART is a NISO Recommended Practice that facilitates the transfer of
holdings metadata from content providers to knowledge base suppliers and
libraries. The first iteration of the KBART Recommended Practice, which
focused on journal holdings, was published in 2010; a 2014 "Phase II"
revision extended support to metadata for e-books, conference proceedings,
consortial subscriptions, and some open access publications. Starting in
early 2020, the KBART Standing Committee has been hard at work on research
and actions around elements of its Phase III work with subgroups addressing
areas of work such as clarifying the recommendations, revamping the mission
statement, determining new fields, and creating a new file guide.

*Speakers: Jason Friedman,* Senior Manager, Heritage Services, Canadian
Research Knowledge Network; *Robert Heaton*, FOLIO Implementation
Consultant, EBSCO Information Services; and *Noah Levin,* Manager, Metadata
& Digital Asset Management, Springer Publishing
