Web & Database Developer
The Oregon Library Association (OLA) in conjunction with the Oregon State Library is seeking a Web & Database Developer who will lead and participate in the design and implementation of a new Oregon authors website for the public and web-based database for libraries. This is a part-time, fixed-term, telecommuting position (20 hours a week for 6 months).
Key responsibilities:
This highly skilled role requires a mix of web development and database administration skills. Primary responsibilities for this position include development, design, and implementation of both secure public and private websites, which includes developing web architecture, on-line forms, and dynamic pages as well as assisting in database design and development. As a web developer, this person will collaborate with OLA's Oregon Authors Committee to define requirements and manage technical work. This position involves a significant amount of hands-on technical web application and database development skills. Candidates should have a proven history of strong customer focus and disciplined software development processes in the creation of both small and large web applications.
Qualifications:
Required: Previous experience as a web developer and database developer on small to mid-size projects. Program experience in developing and modifying MySQL databases. Experience with complex SQL queries and database schema design. Recent experience with developing and maintaining a wiki. Demonstrated experience in PHP/MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Perl, Apache, and graphic design tools. The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills.
