Bay Path College's School of Professional and Adult studies (SPAS) seeks an
innovative, collaborative, skilled, and energetic candidate to join the
School's online development team as the digital information initiatives and
implementation expert in a permanent, full time role. Under the direction of
the Dean of Online and Adult Studies, the position provides administrative,
analytic, research, and project management expertise for the development,
procurement and implementation of digital information including but not
limited to podcasts, journal articles, books, blogs, wikis, archived digitized
images and other digital assets and services in support of the development of
SPAS online courses and students. The position works directly with course
development faculty to locate and procure these assets for the development
teams, with teaching faculty and students in the use of those digital assets,
and with the learning commons, web and social media public relations and
marketing wings of the college to insure that they are aware and can easily
access these assets. In addition, the position will create, and teach students
and faculty, how to create metatag trees to tag learning resources available
on the internet around specific course outcomes. Since the online course
development are time-sensitive projects, this position will assist the teams
in meeting their project management goals surrounding the creation of the
online courses. Most importantly, this position will assist in the analysis of
the use of online assets to improve the quality and speed of learning.

  
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Meets often with multiple online course development teams

Provides administrative and project management support and expertise

Identifies, procures, and assists in the implementation of digital assets on
the learning management system, canvas including but not limited to films,
podcasts, journal articles, books, blogs, wikis, archived digitized images

Tags learning assets such as websites that are freely available on the
internet to create trees that students can use to learn outcomes

Instruct faculty and student in creating these trees themselves

Identifies and implements strategies to analyze student usage of digital
assets and "metataged learning trees"

Conduct and analyze data usage by students, evaluate the quality and quantity
of digital assets and recommend improvement in support of the development of
SPAS online courses.

Attend trainings as required.

Perform any other job related functions as assigned by the Dean of Online and
Adult Studies

  
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS:

ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS degree or equivalent; at least 1 year of progressive
experience working on digital team projects; broad knowledge and experience
with digital libraries; demonstrated ability to create innovative library
online programming; demonstrated broad knowledge of project management
concepts, practices, standards, and processes; demonstrated ability to
identify key issues critical to the success of a desired outcome and develop
recommendations and justification for the most productive course of action;
demonstrated ability to work independently, calmly, and effectively in
situations under pressure; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage
time effectively in a changing environment; communication and interpersonal
skills sufficient to work cooperatively with library staff, faculty, and
students from culturally diverse backgrounds; experience with content
management systems; knowledge of metadata standards; experience with software
applications including HTML, CSS, and XML; excellent written communication
skills demonstrating the ability to draft clear, concise documentation,
reports, and specifications; proven facilitation and presentation skills;
thorough knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office suite of software
to create documents, reports, and presentations.

Preferred: Understanding and experience conducting formal usability and
learning usages studies; experience with or working understanding of computer
programming and scripting languages such as Javascript, MySQL, and PHP and how
they relate to digital collections.

Ability to travel as needed to BPC campus locations

Valid driver's license

  
If position includes regular travel to other locations, must successfully pass
the online National Safety Council's Defensive Driving Course and driving
record check at time of hire and annually thereafter.

  
Must successfully pass CORI/SORI check as required for all employees who do
work at the Burlington Mass Campus
