**Information Systems Specialist** from 16 May 2016 (or as agreed) until further notice.
The Jyvaskyla University Library is a pivotal infrastructure for
internationally significant research and teaching. The University Library
actively develops the scientific information environment and is responsible
for services needed at the University for research, teaching, studying and
societal interaction. In addition, the University Library develops the
University's publication operations. The University Library is one of the
legal deposit libraries in Finland. It archives Finnish publications and makes
them available for research in compliance with the Act on Collecting and
Preserving Cultural Materials.
The duties of Information Systems Specialist focus on the maintenance and
development of the [JYX digital
archive](http://www.opendoar.org/find.php?rID=1222&format=full) of the
University. Information Systems Specialist is responsible for the integration
and interaction of the publication archive and the research information
system. In addition, he/she develops the University Library's information
systems, organises the management of digital research data at the University
and develops related management processes as a member of the University
Library's support service team for researchers. The job also includes support
for research projects and researchers and specialist duties related to data
management systems.
The selected person is required to have a suitable higher education degree,
good English proficiency, good IT skills (especially Java web applications,
SQL, XML, XSLT, REST, metadata models) and work experience with information
systems. Good knowledge of university world, library work, research process,
digital repositiories and especially the DSpace digital repository software,
as well as good cooperation and interaction skills and a good command of
Finnish language, help to succeed in the position.
The job-specific salary component of Information Systems Specialist is based
on the job demands level 9 (EUR 2866.63 per month) of other staff in the
salary system of universities. In addition, a personal performance-based
salary component amounting to the maximum of 46.3% of the job-specific salary
component is also paid.
The trial period is four months.
