Description
The Technology Librarian assists with planning and implementing the library's technology services, including the library web site, discovery services, digital content repositories, the library computer lab, and electronic classrooms. As a member of an active library team this position also participates in reference, instruction, and collection development.
DUTIES
Assists with access, discovery, problem resolution, and assessment of all library technologies
Provides technical support for library staff, library computer lab, and electronic classrooms
Ensures that the library's web presence is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible
Provides reference services and instruction to faculty and students
Serves as subject librarian and faculty liaison to selected departments
MARGINAL DUTIES
Works in collaboration to conduct annual inventory of hardware
Performs all other duties assigned

Knowledge:
Knowledge of technological trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to academic libraries.

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Primary Work Location: Works in an office environment 6 to 8 hours
Physical Demands: Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. May be exposed to dust when working with computer hardware or the library print collection.
Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about walking (15%), standing (15%) and sitting (70%).
Position will require occasional stooping , kneeling, reaching, and crouching. Ability to speak, hear and see.
Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.

Qualifications
Required Education: Master's degree in Library Science/Information Science from an ALA accredited program
Required Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of job related experience
License/Certification: None Required

Experience supporting computer labs
Experience with library discovery services and link resolvers
