Metadata and Discovery Librarian
St. Edward's University is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and
detail-oriented person to join the Munday Library. If you are eager to
learn, are passionate about solving problems, and enjoy working in teams, we
want you to support metadata creation, analysis, enrichment and maintenance
to enhance discovery and access to the Libraries' collections. This
individual will collaborate with the Collection Management Team in managing
the lifecycle of electronic resources, improve discoverability and
usability of our collections.
For consideration, a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA
accredited program, information science, or foreign equivalent and a
minimum of two years of metadata management required; three years
preferred. Experience with integrated library systems/library platforms,
bibliographic knowledge bases, and a working knowledge of discovery layers.
Knowledge of automating repetitive data manipulation tasks employing tools
and techniques such as MARCEdit, Open Refine, and/or scripting for text and
data parsing preferred.
