Charles, I hope this helps:
================
The process to create a group email (label) and add Gmail contacts on an iPad is slightly different, as you need to use the Google Contacts app or a web browser since the Gmail app doesn’t support label management directly. Here’s how you can do it:
Option 1: Using a Web Browser on iPad
Open Safari or Chrome:
Go to Google Contacts.
Switch to Desktop Mode (if necessary):
Tap the Aa icon in the URL bar (Safari) or the menu (three dots) in Chrome and select Request Desktop Site.
Follow the Steps from Desktop Instructions:
Use the same steps from the desktop guide to create a label and add contacts to it.
Option 2: Using the Google Contacts App
Install the Google Contacts App:
Download the Google Contacts app from the App Store.
Sign In:
Open the app and sign in with your Google account.
Create a Label:
Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
Tap Create Label.
Enter a label name and save it.
Add Contacts to the Label:
Find and tap on a contact to open their details.
Tap the "Edit" icon (pencil).
Scroll down to Labels and select or create the label you want to associate with that contact.
Repeat this for each contact you want to add.
Option 3: Using the Gmail App to Email the Label
Once the label is set up, you can use the Gmail app to send emails to the group:
Open the Gmail app.
Compose a new email.
In the "To" field, type the label name, and Gmail will suggest the label. Tap it to add all associated contacts.

Subject: [CODE4LIB] Adding Gmail email adresses to a Label on an Ipad
My stemmed listmates,
I have watched a panoply of YT videos and read a ton of Googled results but to no avail.
I'm trying to help a patron create a group email (Label in Gmail) and then add some of his gmail contacts.
I'll view the YT videos and the screenshots and then look at his iPad and the icons and graphics which appear in the YT video or screenshot don't appear on his iPad.
The perron left so I can't verify which iPad version or which iOS he's running byt has the process changed much in the past 2-3 years?
Thank you for your kind help.
Charles.
