The ArchivesSpace Nominating Committee is seekingnominations of candidates to stand for election for the ArchivesSpaceGovernance Board representing the Medium membership level.
The Governance Board is charged with providing leadership forthe ArchivesSpace community and the ongoing growth and support of ArchivesSpace,including setting membership policies, providing fiscal oversight, approvingprogram initiatives, and oversight of the Technical and User Advisorycouncils. ArchivesSpace Board service is an excellent way to serve the ArchivesSpacecommunity while also gaining valuable experience with organizationalgovernance. Please see the full description of theresponsibilities of Board members formore information on this key role in the ArchivesSpace community. The term for the successful candidate will be July1, 2025-June 30, 2028. The elected member representative will be eligibleto run for a second term, July 1, 2028-June 30, 2031.
Governance Board nominees must be currently employed by anArchivesSpace member organization in the Medium member level (see the memberlists at: http://archivesspace.org/community/whos-using-archivesspace/). A variety of skills, interests, and experience can beuseful in furthering the Board's mission, but nominees should ideally have someadministrative and fiscal oversight experience. As the community for asoftware application used in many different settings, we seek diverse voices tohelp improve ArchivesSpace and support those who use or may benefit from usingit. We especially encourage Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and otherscurrently less represented in our governance groups to consider joining us inthese important leadership roles.

Nominees who confirm their interest in standing forelection will be requested to supply a formal candidate statement outliningtheir qualifications for serving on the ArchivesSpace Governance Board(see: http://archivesspace.org/about/governance-board-and-councils/). The Nominating Committee will review all nominationsand confirm a slate of nominees with the current Governance Board. An electionballot will be circulated to member institutions at the Medium level later inMay.
