You are invited to participate in a research project with the goal of conducting an environmental scan to determine the current state of technological ecosystems in archival information systems in cultural heritage institutions across Canada and the United States. The types of systems used to manage archives typically include information management, digital preservation, web archives, and digital content/collections. This project is being conducted by the Current Gaps in Tech Strategy subgroup of the DLF Technology Strategy for Archives (TS4A) Working Group. This group includes archivists in academic institutions across Canada and the United States.
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey about the systems you currently use to manage archives. Please participate in this survey here: https://wvu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5bgtDmcQemWNhhc
Your participation in this project will take approximately 25 minutes. All data will be reported in the aggregate. Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may skip any question that you do not wish to answer, and you may discontinue at any time. The West Virginia University Institutional Review Board's review of this research project is on file with the WVU Office of Human Research Protections. If you have any questions about this research project, please feel free to contact me at 304-293-0312 or by email at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, the PI, or the other members of the TS4A working group listed below. Additionally, you can contact the WVU Office of Human Research Protections at 304-293-7073.
I hope that you will participate in this research project, as it could help us better understand the current state of technology ecosystems in archival information systems in cultural heritage institutions. We will be collecting responses through May 30, 2025. Thank you for your time and consideration.
