The Open Preservation Foundation has an exciting DOUBLE release for you
today: veraPDF and Arlington 1.28. veraPDF is an open-source,
industry-supported PDF/A and PDF/UA (Machine checks) validator and part of
the OPF reference toolset. The Arlington PDF Checker is an open-source PDF
checker based on the Arlington PDF Model.
veraPDF 1.28 is made up of several PDF/UA improvements on top of veraPDF
1.28-RC1, such as new Well-Tagged PDF <https://pdfa.org/wtpdf/> (WTPDF)
profiles for accessibility and reuse (Machine failure conditions) and the
validation of multiple conformance claims (PDF/A, PDF/UA, WTPDF) in one
run.
Arlington has the newest model included in this release, with added
extension-specific permitted values and links and the fixed the processing
of AA entry in merged Widget annotation and Form field dictionaries,
checkbox with no Ff entry, and cyclic links in the interactive fields tree.
