Dear Code4Lib data science and/or AI fellow travelers—
I think of this Code4lib community as an able, helpful lot so I’m sharing
an opportunity to assist a grant-funded software project with testing, if
anyone with a couple of hours (*and access to a Windows 11 or Mac OS
machine with Docker installed*) might be interested in lending a hand,
potentially learning a bit about research with genomics data along the way.
You may be familiar with “data visitation” (DV) as a concept, particularly
if your work touches on health-related research chock full of personally
identifiable information (PII), even down to the genetic fabric level.
Here’s the deal: To query this risk-intensive data with care, the *FAIRlyz
<https://fairlyz.com/>* project has created a new tool that enables
researchers to access and analyze sensitive data—even creating a data
dictionary where needed—so that optimal studies in an ocean of related
research can be identified and prioritized.
I’ve participated a bit with this grant-funded, *RDA
<https://www.rd-alliance.org/>*-affiliated project, so I can vouch for it.
It’s winding up this month, so if you are interested and able to help test
soon, please register here <https://forms.gle/3LQ9LqSJLeqSDaza7>.
Very grateful for your help,
--DBL
