The National Collaborating Centre for Cancer (NCC-C) is a leading research
centre producing evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for the NHS in
England, Wales and Northern Ireland aimed at improving patient care. The
NCC-C, which is based in Cardiff city centre, is funded by the National
Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and hosted by Velindre NHS
Trust and works in partnership with Cardiff University and other key
organisations, representing relevant health professions and patient groups.
NICE clinical guidelines are their most frequently accessed products and have
an international reputation for excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to

from a variety of sources including the biomedical and social science research
literature and routine NHS data. You will be responsible for the
administration of inter-library loans and the maintenance of appropriate
reference databases.
You should have a post graduate qualification in library management or
information science with proven experience of searching health databases and
the internet, and of working within a multi-disciplinary setting. With
excellent communication skills, you will be able to work on your own
initiative and with other project collaborators, and adhere to tight
deadlines. The role provides opportunities for continuing professional and
personal development.
The successful candidate will also be eligible to apply for an honorary
research fellowship at Cardiff University and on-going academic advice and
support will be provided.
