Under the supervision of the Archivist, the Digital Assistant supports two
related areas:the AFSC archives and organizational media production.
Archives: Supports the accessioning, processing, and organization of archival
materials, with a primary focus on digital materials and
systems. Assists in the organization and maintenance of all
audio-visual materials. Serves as back-up to the
Archivist: communication with staff, answering queries, and
processing archival materials as needed.
Digital Media Production: Supports the production of audio
and video materials for internal communications, organization visibility and
program work. Records and edits audio and video as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: The key
responsibilities of the Digital Archive Assistant include the following:
Archives
Provide support for on-line database of AFSC Board Decisions for
organizational use.
Assist in the development and maintenance of systems for the archival
management of electronic files, including email.
Scans and provides digital enhancement for electronic documents included in
digital archive.
Indexes digital documents for easy and logical retrieval by AFSC Board,
management and staff.
Supports the acquisition, organization, maintenance and usage of audio/visual
materials, oversee the Web Team's staff trainings on web publishing, social
networking, online organizing, and email marketing. Travel to offices as
needed to deliver training and assist with implementation.
Implements basic conservation practices for materials in need of such
treatment. Serves as backup to the Archivist as needed.
Supports accessioning, processing, and organization of physical materials from
AFSC offices. Communicates with staff regarding acquisition of materials and
use of the Archives.8. Researched and answers queries from AFSC staff and
outside researchers.
Digital Media
Supports the production of audio and video materials for internal
communications, organization visibility and program work.
Records audio and video upon request.
Edits short audio and video projects in collaboration with Communications
colleagues, program staff, and other support units.
Basic knowledge of photo, audio, and video production and
editing.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in library science,
communications or related discipline or four years of applicable experience in
archives, media services, or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Proficiency in using computers and media-related software.
Working knowledge of data storage and manipulation.
Basic knowledge of photo, audio, and video production and
editing.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and prioritize.
Excellent communications skills (oral, written and listening).
Commitment to Quaker values and testimonies. Understanding

COMPENSATION: Salary Range-10- Comprehensive medical and
hospitalization plan; term life, accident and salary continuation insurances,
defined benefit pension plan, plus fringe benefits; participation in
unemployment and worker's compensation and social security.
