In this position, you will perform specific, standard tasks associated with
digitizing a wide variety of materials at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum.

  
This position is located at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum
in Atlanta, GA.

DUTIES:

  
Typical duties include:

  
Reviewing digitally scanned documents into electronic formats, classifying and
identifying form numbers and types using established form lists and basic
software programs.

Preparing textual materials to be digitally scanned into electronic formats,
removing staples, flattening, correcting bent corners of document,
disassembling materials as necessary, maintaining original arrangement and
scanning scheme. Preparing bar code/separator sheets, making photocopy of
document(s) to be scanned.

Digitally scanning on original, loose, textual records, bound volumes varying
in size, drawings, maps, charts, and printed material. Operating digital
scanning devise, performing ongoing verification checks of image quality.

  
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  
  
GS-03 - Candidates must have at least six months of general experience that
demonstrates responsible clerical, office or other work.

  
Education may be substituted for experience. GS-3: One year
of education above the high school level.

  
Combination of Experience and Education: You may also combine post-high school
education and experience to meet the total experience requirements for the
GS-3 level.

  
Physical Requirements: This work requires some physical exertion including
periods of standing, lifting moderately heavy items, or bending and reaching.
The work is generally sedentary with long periods of working at a computer,
but physical exertion is required to move equipment, supplies, and large or
awkward original materials. Good manual dexterity is required to handle
fragile materials. Excellent natural or corrected vision without color
deficiencies must be maintained.

Qualifications by Closing Date: You must meet all qualification requirements

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:

  
Once you complete and submit your application package, a review of your
application will be made to ensure you meet the job
requirements. To determine if you are qualified for this
job, a review of your resume and supporting documentation will be made and
compared against your responses to the occupational
questionnaire. Your resume must specifically and clearly
show your possession of the required specialized experience and your
possession of the required competencies. We will evaluate
each applicant who meets the basic qualifications on the
competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities related to the position.

  
The required KSA's for this position are as follows:

* Knowledge of and ability to identify a variety of government forms  
  
* Knowledge and skill of basic procedures and guidelines relating to document review and digital scanning of records..  
  
* Ability to operate digital scanning devices.  
  
* Knowledge and use of basic production level digital scanning software programs, e.g. Kofax, Ascent Capture, Indicius Document review, Indicius Completion.
