Seeking an individual with a background in taxonomy, data management,
knowledge management and music to create a taxonomy for us to use in a new
digital asset management system.
We're looking for someone with:
Thorough knowledge of taxonomy creation, including meta-data, content
classification, controlled vocabularies, and open tagging systems;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Strong communication skills;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
In collaboration with internal partner groups, develop a college-wide standard
for taxonomy and metadata for all digital college assets;
Define and implement standards and processes for taxonomy development,
maintenance of centralized schemas, and metadata management;
Define the requirements of business and technical teams for taxonomy,
metadata, and classification management;
Drive technical requirements for a taxonomy and classification tool.

Required Skills
6-8 years experience in Taxonomy;
Experience implementing taxonomies in enterprise content management systems
and with taxonomy and thesauri management software preferred;
Knowledge of metadata standards: MARC, Dublin core, EAD, MODS, METS, VRA, TEI,
PREMIS, Prism, IPTCcore and extension.
Required Experience
Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution
or related degree required
Studies in music with an emphasis in popular music preferred
