Process Intent

  
The immediate need is to staff one (1) term (temporary, full-time) position
for a period of one year (with possibility of extension) and one indeterminate
full-time position. A pool of qualified candidates will be established. This
process may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures,
linguistic profiles and levels, and security clearance levels, within Library
and Archives Canada.

master's degree in library science or in library and information science.

Experience

  
Experience developing system and/or business requirements.

  
Experience in the analysis, design and/or testing of automated library
systems.

  
Significant and recent experience in using one or more modules of a library
management system (*Significant is defined as experience of approximately two
years. Recent is defined as in the last five years.)

  
Experience in managing multiple priorities and/or projects.

Qualifications that are not essential to perform the work, but that would
benefit the organization or enhance the work to be performed currently or in
the future.

Experience

  
Recent*** experience in using the AMICUS library system (***Recent is defined

Experience in leading project teams.

  
Experience in a programming language, such as C/++, Java/Script, PHP, JQuery,
Ruby, etc."

  
Experience working with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).

  
Experience in the migration of bibliographic, authority and/or acquisitions

Experience in managing and/or negotiating licenses for electronic information

Experience in conducting research and analysis.

or description of digital library resources (**Significant is defined as
experience of approximately two years of experience.)

Knowledge

  
Knowledge of linked data and its use in library and cultural heritage
projects.
