The Naval Intelligence Community spans across many organizations that provide
direct support to the Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and various Joint
and Fleet Commands. Gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of
the Navy relative to the broader Intelligence Community and work side by side
with your fellow companions throughout the DOD and various other intelligence
agencies.

  
Serves as a Records and Information Management Specialist responsible for
performing records information management work which includes planning,
controlling, directing, organizing, training, promoting, and other activities
involved with records creation, records maintenance and use, and disposition.
This position is located in Camp Smith, HI.

DUTIES:

  
* Coordinate findings with the information technology personnel to performing the research and analysis evaluation on new technologies for electronic records management.  
* Perform staff assistance visits to ensure understanding, compliance, and proper maintenance of government records.  
* Ensure all offices of records prepare new file plans at the beginning of the fiscal or calendar year, as applicable, and assist with preparation of required documentation for staging records.  
  
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient
experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the
duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your
resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and
abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be
clear and specific when describing your experience.

  
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or
equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or
equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

  
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensure compliance
with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance on Records and Information
Management issues; 2) Manage essential records including sensitive defense-
related data to establish protection and access in support of federal law; 3)
Provide instruction for the implementation and management of electronic
records to ensure a smooth transition of records.

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a
favorable adjudication by a determining authority. A Top Secret security
clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive
Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to obtain and maintain this required
level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or
removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative
offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the
scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated
positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be
provided to the employing activity/command.

  
All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence
Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10
U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants
selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual
appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has
been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal
employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge
that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer
of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as
movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited
if the employee does not possess competitive status.
