Subject: Volunteer for the 2022 DLF Forum Planning Committee
Hello all,
Team DLF is pleased to announce that the call is now open for the volunteer planning committee for the 2022 DLF Forum<https://forum2022.diglib.org/>, CLIR/DLF’s annual conference. Next year’s event will take place in Baltimore, Maryland, in October 2022.
The DLF Forum brings together practitioners from digital libraries, archives, and museums of all types and sizes to set ambitious agendas, share new methods and experiments, develop best practices, and better organize our community to accomplish its shared mission. More information about DLF and past Forums can be found here<https://www.diglib.org/dlf-events/>.
Here are the names and full descriptions for all of the focused sub-committees:
* Program – Committee members help review the DLF Forum Call for Proposal before it is released, create the Forum program based on submissions and peer reviews, and assist with moderator responsibilities leading up to and at the Forum. Responsibilities chiefly happen in January (1-2 hours to review the CFP); July (approximately 5-7 hours to read proposal reviews and create the program); and September/October/November (2-3 hours each month to coordinate with speakers, attend a moderator training, and moderate sessions). Please note: If you can't attend the Forum or otherwise can't be a moderator, you may still join this committee to help with the other tasks.
* Sponsorship – Members of this committee will be responsible for suggesting and contacting potential sponsors for the DLF Forum and Digital Preservation. Responsibilities will commence in January and will require up to 10 hours of work total including calls, letter-writing, and follow-up throughout the spring.
* Fellowship – The primary task of this group is to help to select Forum Fellows. Each member will read and rank up to 15 applications and will participate in committee calls to discuss feedback. Work will begin in early summer and up to 10 hours over two months may be required.
* Community – This committee will focus its efforts on brainstorming, planning, and leading social and wellness events during the DLF Forum and creating a local guide for attendees on the DLF Forum website, with a mind toward experiences that are as inclusive and welcoming as possible. The work for this committee will kick off with a call in late spring/early summer and follow-up for a few hours each month leading up to the Forum. The time commitment of the Community Committee is largely up to the individual and how many events he/she/zie/ey/they decides to lead.
To apply to join the volunteer planning committee, complete the volunteer form here by January 14, 2022: https://forms.gle/2ajaM8zsruL3ctfw8
We look forward to hearing from you.
All best,
Aliya and Team DLF
