Hello!
Thanks for pointing out our article, Nick. Junior, if you'd like to see the repository that we use to build our library website using Jekyll, it's here: https://github.com/uidaholib/main-web-redesign_draft. Evan Williamson ([log in to unmask]) is the point person for our library web development. We also build our digital humanities projects<https://cdil.lib.uidaho.edu/projects/>, digital collections<https://www.lib.uidaho.edu/digital/>, and a Special Collection & Archives blog<https://harvester.lib.uidaho.edu/> using customized versions of the Jekyll framework CollectionBuilder<https://collectionbuilder.github.io/>.
We don't use a CMS in this work, but there are quite a few that work with Jekyll and other static site generators. I like and have used forestry.io, and CloudCannon also has a CMS for Jekyll that seems solid.
Another feature we really like with Jekyll is the ability to use spreadsheets (as CSVs) to generate content. We maintain a LOT of our content now in shared Google sheets that we just upload to the repository when there's a need to update the site. Our colleagues also contribute both content and features to the site, and they haven't had too many headaches working directly on GitHub or via their local machines using GitHub desktop.
And we will be releasing a larger Lib-Static site soon that points to a wide variety of library-based static web projects/tools, as well as some conceptual pieces regarding the approach. We (Evan, Olivia Wikle, and myself) are working on that with your fellow New Yorkers Alex Gil and Marii Nyrop, who maintain Wax<https://minicomp.github.io/wax/>, and Chris Diaz from Northwestern.
Well, that's a lot. I am obviously way too deep in all this. Please reach out if you have any questions!
Cheers,
Devin

Subject: Re: [CODE4LIB] Jekyll for a library website?
Hey Junior!
We use Jekyll for the Pratt Institute Libraries <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://library.pratt.edu/__;!!JYXjzlvb!0FVZQHOA4egd-HqYMia61nSDZZfHviJ7V5Ak4tFZBxWB4easng_B-gXcYKGUMNMD$ >
site and it has eased a TON of my workflows (github

quickly I can make big changes. The blogging system is really simple and
effective also. However, the best feature IMHO is that you can develop on
any machine and quickly preview changes without having to fiddle with your
server or worry about CMS maintenance. If you haven't seen this article
before, I recommend that you check out Using static web technologies and
git-based workflows to re-design and maintain a library website (quickly)
with non-technical staff

Their website on Lib-Static methodology <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://lib-static.github.io/__;!!JYXjzlvb!0FVZQHOA4egd-HqYMia61nSDZZfHviJ7V5Ak4tFZBxWB4easng_B-gXcYDx27Qqm$ > is
also really interesting.
Best,
Nick
